Parable® Franchise Announces Board of Directors

New Board Combines Leaders from Inside and Outside of Christian Retail Industry

San Luis Obispo, CA — Steve Potratz, Parable founder and CEO, is pleased to announce the recently-named board members for Parable's new franchising program.

The Board of Directors for Parable Franchise sets the vision and policies for Parable franchisees and helps establish and evaluate strategic objectives. The board will help build on the strength of the national Parable brand and will work together to maximize national advertising opportunities.

The board of directors includes business and marketing minds from inside and outside the Christian retail industry. Three Parable member store owners are taking board positions. Those retailers are: Michael Wall, Jim Kregel and Gary Woehrmann. Rounding out the board are business leaders from outside the industry, including Mike Isakson, president and chief operating officer of ServiceMaster Clean and Furniture Medic, Jeff Grubb, the managing director for US Trust Company, and Greg Bunch, a senior consultant and lead facilitator at Brandtrust, a Chicago-based company that helps large corporations create their brand, including General Motors' Saturn. Steve Potratz will serve as chairman of the franchising board.

"This board brings an incredible wealth of knowledge and wisdom to Parable from having vast experience in Christian retail, national brand marketing and franchising," says Potratz. "All of these directors are leaders and they all bring a successful business background to the board."

Director Mike Isakson has been involved in the franchise arena from the time he started working for a local ServiceMaster franchise while still in high school. He now serves on the Executive Committee of the International Franchise Association. "Franchising can transform this industry at a very critical time. Its customer focus and proven execution make this an exciting opportunity," says Isakson. "I am most excited about seeing franchisees have more voice in the Christian retail industry. There is power in numbers and these franchise stores can now shape which direction they want this national brand to go."

The Parable family of companies includes: The Parable Group, providing catalogs and comprehensive marketing services to independent, locally-branded Parable Member Affiliates nationwide; Parable Franchise, offering a nationally-branded turnkey business plan for opening and operating new Christian retail stores; and Parable Interactive, serving as a ministry partner hosting hundreds of web sites. Parable, America's Leading Christian Retailers®, is based in San Luis Obispo, California.
